Soup Dumplings (Xiaolongbao): These are on the sweeter side, and the pork filling has a distinct peppery taste. If you're not a fan of these flavors, you might want to skip them. Jelly Noodles (Liangfen): Perfectly tangy and spicy—it’s not too hot, so it’s very approachable. Beef Roll: The outer wrap is pan-fried and served hot, while the beef inside is served cold. It’s an interesting contrast, but the flavors are excellent. 荠菜Wontons: These were the star of the show! Absolutely delicious. Service: Richard was very nice and provided excellent service. He’s truly attentive to the customers.

Visited Mian & Bao in Austin, Texas and honestly one of the best noodle and dumpling spots we’ve tried lately. The restaurant itself is stunning inside such a cozy modern atmosphere with beautiful lanterns, green tile tables, and an open kitchen that makes the whole experience feel authentic and welcoming. The staff was friendly, attentive, and everything came out fresh and fast. We started with the cucumber salad and it was so refreshing with the perfect crunch, garlic, and chili flavor. Then we tried the chili oil dumplings and wow… probably one of my favorite dishes of the night. The dumplings were soft, juicy, packed with flavor, and the chili oil sauce had the perfect balance of spice and richness. The soup dumplings were another highlight. Freshly steamed, super delicate, and filled with so much savory broth inside. Definitely a must-order if you visit Mian & Bao. We also had the beef noodle soup and the broth was incredibly rich and comforting, with tender beef, fresh greens, and perfectly cooked noodles that soaked up all the flavor. Still thinking about dinner at Mian & Bao 🥢🔥 If you’re craving authentic Szechuan and Shanghai-style comfort food, this spot absolutely delivers. The soup dumplings were little flavor bombs — delicate, juicy, and dangerously addictive. One bite in and suddenly you’re contemplating ordering a second round “for the table”… even though the table is just you. 😂 The savory beef noodle soup was next-level cozy. Rich broth, tender beef, perfectly chewy noodles… the kind of bowl that makes you slow down and appreciate life for a minute. 🍜✨ Loved how the menu balances bold Sichuan flavors with classic Shanghai comfort dishes. You can tell there’s real care behind the cooking. Soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) are a famous Shanghai specialty known for their delicate wrappers and rich broth-filled centers.  Service was warm, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing — the staff made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun. The vibe? Hidden gem energy with “why didn’t we discover this sooner?” written all over it. 💯 Austin food scene keeps getting stronger, and Mian & Bao deserves a spot on the must-try list. Come hungry. We stopped here for lunch when my family was in town. There was plenty of seating during lunch, and I'm glad this place opened earlier because it was perfect for a quick meal before they headed to the airport. Ordering was easy—just scan a QR code and place your order on your phone. We appreciated the friendly service as they checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent and arrived quickly after we ordered. We tried several dishes with the family. The kids loved the steamed eggs, and my personal favorite was the fried dumplings. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Parking could be difficult depending on the time of your visit.

Mian & Bao is one of our favorite spots. We’ve been here several times and it’s consistently great. The food is always fresh with generous portions. Highly recommend the chili oil wontons, spicy beef noodle, stir-fried shrimp noodles, xiao long bao with shrimp, pan-fried pork buns, and stir-fried broccoli — everything is flavorful and well cooked. Nice, clean ambiance, very kid-friendly, and excellent service. The app-based ordering system is super efficient and the food comes out fast and fresh every time. Bathrooms are very clean and have all the basics, including a baby changing table, which we really appreciate. We’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend.
